Yarmouth Beach

About This Place
The small, but historically significant town on Yarmouth can be found on the north-western coast of the Isle of Wight, at the mouth of the River Yar. The diminutive beach here is a short stretch of mixed sand and shingle which all but disappears at high tide.ย Adjacent to the beach is the Royal Solent Yacht Club, which provides on-shore facilities for visiting yachtsmen and organises a variety of sailing events throughout the year. --> Yarmouthโs little beach is somewhat dominated by the grade II listed pier. This is said to be the last remaining pier made entirely out of wood (apart from the nuts and bolts holding it together!) in the British Isles.ย A small fee is payable to enter and walk along the pier, which is used by local fishermen and has excellent views across the Solent and along this stretch of the coast.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in lovely Norfolk? Yarmouth Beach welcomes your pups year-round! Its vast, sandy expanse is perfect for zoomies, especially for energetic breeds. Parking's nearby, though you'll need to pop into Great Yarmouth itself for immediate facilities. Do be aware - the sea can have strong currents, so keep a close eye on your dog while swimming. We recommend it for confident swimmers and bigger dogs who love a good run. A practical tip: pack plenty of fresh water as there's little natural shade on the beach. A truly wonderful spot for happy dogs and happy owners!
