Wilsthorpe Beach
π Bridlington, Yorkshire
About This Place
The small, medieval village of Wilsthorpe lies on the East Riding coast, approximately 2 miles south of Bridlington. The long, sandy beach here slopes gently into the sea and is backed by grassy dunes and very low cliffs. --> At low tide a wide area of beach is exposed. The beach makes a good destination for a bracing sea walk at any time of year. It is also popular with dog walkers and sea anglers.Β This area of the coastline was heavily defended during the Second World War and anti-tank blocks can be seen along the shoreline. Nearby Bridlington has a choice of visitor attractions and other amenities.
π‘ Our Take
Wilsthorpe Beach, in East Riding of Yorkshire, welcomes dogs all year round, making it a fantastic find for off-season adventures! The sand isn't the softest, but spacious enough for zoomies. While facilities are limited right on the beach, nearby Hornsea offers amenities. Swimming can be risky, so keep a close eye on the tides. Parking is available. Tip: Bring water and a bowl, especially on warmer days! Wilsthorpe is perfect for confident, energetic dogs who love exploring and arenβt fazed by rougher terrain. Perhaps less ideal for very small puppies until they're steadier on their paws.
