About This Place
The sand and shingle beach of Whitecliff Bay is situated near the eastern tip of the Isle of Wight. The name comes from the high chalk Culver Cliffs at the southern end of the beach which form part of a site of significant geological interest. These cliffs are also rich in fossils. --> The two hundred metre long beach is backed by two holiday parks so is quite a popular spot during the summer. This also means there are at least some facilities, including two cafes, but NO toilets! Along with fairly limited parking and a steep path down to the beach, this can mean Whitecliff isnβt the most suitable beach for everyone. Whitecliff Bay is actually privately owned by one of the holiday parks. However this does not affect access, which is via either of two equally steep concrete paths.
π‘ Our Take
Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight is a fantastic year-round dog-friendly beach! The soft, golden sand is perfect for running and digging, and the lack of restrictions makes it a real haven for playful pups. Do be mindful of the tides, as the beach disappears significantly at high tide. Parking is available nearby, so it's easy to access. The nearest facilities are a short walk away, so bring water for your furry friend. With its gentle waves, Whitecliff Bay is ideal for confident swimming dogs and playful puppies exploring the sea for the first time. We'd recommend it for happy dogs who love a good run!
