About This Place
West Links is the main beach by the town of Arbroath, and is also known as Elliot Beach. Adjacent to the town, it is a rocky beach, with a large number of rockpools exposed at low tide. Moving south-west along the shore, there is a long stretch of mixed sand and pebbles along towards Eliot Holiday Park and village. --> The beach is popular for swimming, boating, and walking, with a coastal path backing the beach and continuing on to the village of East Haven to the south-west. The beach is backed by a large grassy plain that makes an excellent spot for a family picnic. There is parking at the Arbroath end of the beach, including disabled spaces along Queenโs Drive. There are also toilets here and other facilities including a cafรฉ and a miniature railway. Opposite the beach on Queenโs Drive, next to Arbroath Football Club there is an indoor pleasure land with various rides and amusements. The beach is accessed down a slipway. Dogs are allowed on the beach and litter bins are provided. The town centre of Arbroath is only a few hundred meters from the beach and boasts many facilities such as restaurants, pubs and hotels. There is also a railway station, a museum about the history of the Bell Rock Signal Tower, and a ruined abbey.
๐ก Our Take
Nestled in Arbroath, West Links Beach offers year-round canine fun on its soft, expansive sands, perfect for tuckered-out paws. A doggy delight, the beach's open space is ideal for energetic big dogs needing a roam, while gentle waves suit timid swimmers or puppies just finding their paws. With ample parking nearby, it's a convenient hop and skip to the joy of the seaside. Water safety is a breeze here, but always keep an eye on your pup's playful paddles. Facilities are a walk away, so pack essentials for the day. DogParkUK wholeheartedly recommends this paw-fect spot for worry-free frolics.
