ALL FACILITIES ARE ALSO CLOSED --> Watcombe Beach is a picturesque rural cove in a sheltered position just to the north of Babbacombe.  The natural cove found here is an idyllic spot for a picnic.  The terrain is a mix of rocks, sand and fine red shingle, flanked by cliffs and backed by dense greenery.  There are views out over Babbacombe Bay and over Watcombe Head.  Note that the cliffs here are somewhat unstable and rockfalls are possible at any time.  There is no lifeguard presence but lifebuoys are available. From May to September a toilet and café operate here.  Dogs can be walked on the beach at any time of year. There is no parking on the beach itself and cars must be left in the pay-for car park at the end of Moor Lane in Watcombe.  From here is a 5-10 minute steep descent through mature woodland to the beach.  Access would be difficult for visitors with mobility issues.
