About This Place

Warrenpoint Beach lies on the shores of Carlingford Loch, where the Clanrye River and Newry Canal enter the sea.  The views over the mouth of the loch and the scenic Mourne Mountains make this a beautiful location. --> The shingle beach slopes gently into the water and the beach is known for its many organised watersport activities.  Jet skiing, kayaking , banana boating and more can all be enjoyed from the water’s edge.  The area is also very popular with walkers. The resort town was built on a grid system in the 19/20th centuries.  The park in the town centre has attractive floral displays in the summer as well as a fine Edwardian bandstand from which there are regular band concerts.  There are good facilities in the town, including shops, an amusement arcade and a popular promenade. The town hosts a variety of music festivals.

💡 Our Take

Warrenpoint Beach in County Down is a delightful haven for dog lovers seeking a sandy escape. Its spacious, golden sands welcome your four-legged friends year-round, making it especially appealing for energetic puppies and big dogs needing room to roam. Convenient parking nearby ensures easy access, while the lack of restrictions means worry-free fun for all pet parents. However, swimming can be risky at times, so always prioritize your pup's safety by keeping a close watch. Treat your dog to a day at Warrenpoint, where every fetch and frolic is met with the stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains.
