Viking Bay (Broadstairs)
π Broadstairs, Kent
About This Place
Viking Bay is the most popular beach in the archetypal British seaside town of Broadstairs. The crescent of sand is one of Broadstairs main draws although competition is pretty stiff from other nearby beaches such as the ever popular Joss Bay. --> The beach at Viking Bay has all the features you would expect from a classic seaside resort; there are changing huts, a promenade and even a pier of sorts. To the northern end of the beach is a small harbour which is home to a little fleet of fishing boats. Overlooking the harbour is Bleak House where Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield. A previous winner of Blue Flag awards Viking Bay has excellent facilities and in the summer a lifeguard service ensures safe bathing. As well as all the beachside shops and cafes you would need Broadstairs town is right behind you. There is even a cliff-side elevator at the southern end of the beach if you donβt fancy the climb up to town!
π‘ Our Take
Planning a seaside jaunt with your furry friend in Kent? DogParkUK highly recommends Viking Bay in Broadstairs! This sandy beach welcomes dogs year-round, a major paw-sitive. The soft sand is perfect for playful pups, and while parking can be tricky nearby, the town's amenities are just a short walk away. The bay is relatively sheltered, offering calmer waters for swim-loving dogs. However, always supervise your dog near the sea. We think confident swimmers and dogs who love a good run will thrive here. With no summer restrictions, Viking Bay is a surefire win!
