Tunstall Beach
π Withernsea, Yorkshire
About This Place
This rural, sandy beach, at the southern end of Bridlington Bay, is composed of pebbles and shingle backed by low, clay cliffs. Behind the beach there is agricultural land and a holiday village.Β --> At low tide an area of wet sand is exposed and sometimes it is possible for those who know what to look for, to see the clay and peat remains of an ancient submerged forest, known as Sand-le-Mere.Β Hull museum holds the hind-leg bone of a red deer excavated from this site.Β Tunstall beach is popular with families and those seeking a tranquil spot. It is also one of the best spots for fishing in the area.Β This stretch of the coastline is being rapidly eroded by the sea and access to the beach for visitors not staying at the holiday park can be difficult.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in the UK? We at DogParkUK recommend Tunstall Beach in Yorkshire! With no seasonal restrictions, your furry friend can enjoy it year-round. Unknown sand, but it sounds great! We don't have additional description, and the parking and facilities might be a walk, so pack accordingly. The lack of specific details means assessing swim safety is extra important. This beach is ideal for robust dogs who love a good run. However, due to potentially challenging access, it may not be suitable for tiny puppies or older dogs. Research beforehand for optimal fun!
