About This Place

Traeth Cymyran beach is situated at the western end of a two mile stretch of sand extending from the village of Rhosneigr. Cymyran is delineated from neighbouring Traeth Crigyll by a rocky outcrop known as ys Feirig, although this is fairly arbitrary as it is really one long beach. --> The length of the beach is backed by low sand dunes and at the far end of Cymyran beach is the channel between Holy Island and Anglesey. Whilst this makes for good fishing the currents here can be extremely dangerous so only swim further down the beach.Being a bit of a walk from Rhosneigr, Cymyran beach is never busy making it perfect for dogs and horses to enjoy the space to run.Β The RAF Valley base is just located directly behind Cymyran. This is an active air base and there are a lot of training flights including fighter jets, which can be a little on the noisy side. However, most visitors manage to block this out and enjoy the scenery, whilst others see it as an added attraction.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a completely unrestricted doggy paradise in Anglesey, Wales? Traeth Cymyran Beach near Rhosneigr is it! With soft sand perfect for zoomies and no seasonal dog bans, your furry friend can enjoy year-round fun. Parking’s available, though facilities are limited nearby. This beach is gently shelving offering safer swimming for confident dogs but always supervise! Due to its wide open space, it’s brilliant for dogs who need space to run and less suitable for anxious pups who might find the expanse overwhelming. DogParkUK recommends keeping a close eye on the tide – it comes in quickly!
