About This Place

Titchwell is generally known for the RSPB nature reserve which comprises the large swathe of saltwater marshland and freshwater lagoon. This important habitat is a birdwatcherโ€™s paradise with its reedbeds and marshes home to avocets, bearded tits and marsh harriers. --> Please note, access to the beach is via the nature reserve - to which an entry fee is charged. For up to date information on the charges and opening times please refer to the RSPB Titchwell Marsh website. But Titchwell is also home to an oft overlooked sandy beach. Backed by low sand dunes and the reserve beyond Titchwell is home a wonderful expanse of pristine beach. At low tide, what is already a quiet spot can feel pretty much deserted as the sand extends for what seems like miles in every direction. Reminders of World War II can be found in the form of crumbling pillboxes in the dunes and marshes. Below the tide mark are the remains of two tanks that were probably used as target practice, as was the wreck of the SS Vina. Do not attempt to walk out to this wreck as you can easily be cut off by the tide. In fact there is a warning sign on the ship advising anyone reaching it to return to the beach immediately.

๐Ÿ’ก Our Take

Titchwell Beach, nestled in the charming county of Norfolk, is a year-round haven for dogs. With its vast stretches of fine golden sand, it's a dream come true for pups to romp freely. Ample parking is conveniently nearby, making it easy to access without hassle. Despite its serene beauty, be cautious of strong tides if you plan to swim. This beach is particularly suited for adventurous big dogs and energetic puppies seeking open spaces. A local's tip: bring plenty of water, as facilities are some distance away. At DogParkUK, we wholeheartedly recommend Titchwell Beach for your furry friends' delight!
