It is suggested the name comes from the windy track leading down to the beach. --> This wild and expansive beach is located on the western coast of the Inner Hebrides Isle of Tiree. With its remote and untamed beauty, The Maze offers a broad stretch of white sand interspersed with rocky outcrops and backed by dunes. The beach here is fully exposed to the power of the Atlantic making it a favourite among surfers, kite surfers, and windsurfers who are drawn to Tiree’s consistent conditions and reliable swells. Visitors to Traigh Throdhrasdail will often find themselves sharing the space with only seabirds and the occasional seal. The surrounding dunes are carpeted in machair, blooming with wildflowers in the summer.
