This small, exposed beach on Barra has a range of moods; from wild and dramatic to an oasis of tranquillity with white powder sand and deep blue seas. Tangasdale faces due west, straight into the Atlantic ocean, but also the setting sun when it can put on its best show. Come here in the spring and you can see the machair behind the beach carpeted with wildflowers. --> Set in Halaman Bay on the western edge of the island and is home to the  Isle of Barra Beach Hotel, which is known as the most westerly hotel and pub in the UK.
