Taddiford Gap Beach
π Lymington, Hampshire
About This Place
Taddiford Gap is an isolated, shingle and mud-sand beach located between Barton on Sea and Milford on Sea. Being a little off the beaten track, and so close to better known beaches, it is usually quiet here. There are some good views of the Isle of Wight from the beach. --> The low cliffs at Taddiford Gap are well known for being rich in fossils. Mammal and crocodile remains have been found here along with shark teeth and microfossils. While swimming is generally considered safe here there is no lifeguard service and being relatively isolated care should be taken if you do enter the sea. There is also a risk of being cut off by the tide if you head too far along the coast as the tide can come right up to the cliffs. Taddiford Gap is an unofficial naturist beach. The section of the beach used by nudists is around half a mile from the access point, towards the Barton-on-Sea golf club.
π‘ Our Take
Taddiford Gap Beach in Hampshire is a hidden gem perfect for year-round tail-wagging adventures. With its soft, golden sands providing the ideal playground, it's a paradise for energetic pooches. The beach remains blissfully uncrowded, making it particularly suited for anxious dogs or playful puppies needing space to explore. While there are no facilities directly at the beach, parking is conveniently close, ensuring easy access. Swim safety here is excellent, with calm waters inviting dips for both dogs and humans. A practical tip: bring water and portable bowls, as there are no water sources nearby. Perfect for a peaceful escape!
