About This Place
The name Sugar Sands sets expectations pretty high for this secluded, sandy beach - the good news is you wonโt be disappointed. Whilst the sand isnโt actually made of sugar, it is crunchy and a beautiful pale-golden colour. --> The beach sits at the foot of low grassy cliffs and is bordered by rocky outcrops which are home to plenty of rock pools. Stretching for around 100 metres, the sand here is backed by dunes. Although youโll never have a problem getting a spot on this beach it does also have somewhat cosy feel, with a bit of shelter from the wind too. Sugar Sands beach lies about halfway between Boulmer and Howick and is a little bit of a hike from either direction. There is actually parking closer by, at Howdiemont, via Low Steads farm, where youโll find a pay and display car park.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in the UK? We recommend Sugar Sands, location unknown, for pups! We hear itโs a fantastic sandy spot, perfect for dogs to run free year-round. No restrictions mean your furry friends can truly enjoy themselves. Although facilities information is limited, do bear in mind to bring your own water and waste bags so you leave nothing but paw prints! With its open expanse, Sugar Sands is ideal for energetic, bigger dogs who love a good run and plenty of space to stretch their legs. Always check tide times before visiting for safe swimming.
