Strathlene Beach
π Buckie, Aberdeenshire
About This Place
Strathlene is a sandy beach which is surrounded by rocks and backs onto a grassy area. It is located on the Moray Firth coastline, near the town of Buckie. --> The beach was once a very popular destination for day trippers and it used to have an outdoor swimming pool, although this has now closed down. Also, much of the beach has been lost due to coastal erosion. However, it is still an excellent place to go for a day at the beach and a picnic. If you are lucky there is the possibility of spotting dolphins or even whales if you look out onto the surf. Strathlene has fairly good facilities and there is a car park with direct access to the beach along with toilets that are also located here. Buckie, a short distance from the beach, is a town of about 8000 people, with a small harbour. As visitors would expect, it has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. The Strathlene Golf Club is also located very close to the beach.
π‘ Our Take
Strathlene Beach in Scotland offers year-round, unrestricted access for dogs meaning endless fun! While the sand type is unknown, the freedom is a real treat. Given the lack of facility information, be sure to pack water and poo bags for your furry pal. Parking availability needs verifying locally before you go. Swim safety? Unknown, exercise caution. Best for confident dogs who love space, this unrestricted beach is perfect for energetic breeds to run free. Tip: Without nearby facilities, research local resources before visiting. A great adventure for dogs who love to explore a new, unspoilt coastline.
