About This Place
Set at the foot of the Quantock Hills is the wide bay of St Audries. A mix of flat pebbles, sand, shingle and rock this is one of the best beaches in the area. As with all the beaches on this stretch of coast the sand gets muddier towards the sea and the waters of the Bristol Channel are distinctly murky. --> One of the nicest features of St Audries Bay are the two waterfalls which cascade down the cliffs along the back of the beach. Access is via a path leading down from the local holiday park, which also provides parking and a shop. Whilst the path is well maintained it is still a bit of a hike down a fair number of steps to the beach.
π‘ Our Take
St Audries Bay in Somerset is a fantastic find for dog owners! The lack of restrictions means your furry friend is welcome year-round on this primarily sand and shingle beach. While there's little information about facilities, its open access makes it great for dogs. Parking is likely limited so arrive early! Swim safety is unknown, so be extra vigilant letting your dog paddle. This is a win for confident swimmers who'll enjoy the wide-open space. Note to test the terrain first to avoid any harm. Best for bigger, active dogs who love a good run! Ensure you keep an eye on them on the shore, take care if swimming and enjoy!
