South Beach (Studland)
📍 Swanage, Dorset
About This Place
South Beach, on the Studland Peninsula is a sheltered cove where a 2km stretch of sand slopes gently into the sea. It is popular with families with young children as the waters of the bay are relatively shallow. South Beach faces north and is backed by steep hills. It therefore gets most of its sunshine in the earlier part of the day. Boats and yachts frequently anchor here and the beach has some attractive beach huts. --> From the beach there are spectacular views over Old Harry Rocks - a magnificent chalk headland which stretches out into the sea. The dunes and heathlands of Studland Peninsula have plenty of footpaths. Look out for lovely displays of wildflowers here in the summer months
💡 Our Take
Looking for a Dorset beach where your furry friend can run free year-round? We at DogParkUK recommend South Beach in Studland! With its soft, golden sand, it's perfect for zoomies and digging. Expect calm, shallow waters - great for dogs tentatively learning to swim. Parking is available nearby, though it can get busy. Remember to bring water, as facilities are a short walk away. South Beach is ideal for energetic dogs, especially bigger breeds that love open spaces. Bear in mind Studland is very popular in summer, so arrive early to find a quieter spot.
