About This Place

When you mention Sizewell B to most people they won’t be thinking of Sizewell Beach. The mid section of the beach here is somewhat dominated by the hulking form of the nuclear power station that has stood here since the 1960s. If you can ignore the massive power plant and offshore inlet towers it is actually quite a pleasant spot! --> The beach itself consists of a shingle bank punctuated by greenery. Along its length you will see the small fleet of fishing boats pulled up on the pebbles adds a certain amount of charm. Much of the beach is backed by sand dunes which form part of the Suffolk Sandlings. They are home to a variety of rare plant and animal species with some great bird watching just along the coast at RSPB Minsmere. The charming little village of Sizewell lies just behind the beach and is home to a pub (The Vulcan Arms) and the ever-popular Sizewell Tea Hut.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

DogParkUK recommends Sizewell Beach in Suffolk for dog lovers seeking a year-round canine haven. Sandy and pebbly stretches welcome paws of every size, making it perfect for all dogs, from energetic puppies to large breeds needing a romp. Convenient parking nearby ensures stress-free visits, while swimming is generally safe, though always monitor coastal conditions. Despite the rustic charm, amenities are sparseβ€”pack essentials like water and waste bags. An ideal escape for anxious dogs, thanks to its peaceful vibe and open space. This lesser-known gem is a heartwarming retreat for dogs and their humans seeking tranquility and simple beachside bliss.
