About This Place
Silver Bay (Traeth Llydan) is a sand beach closest to Holyhead. Forming a good-sized horseshoe of beach, it is located on Angleseyβs southwest coast. Backed by grassy dunes and pine woodland, it slopes only gently into the waters of the bay, as demonstrated by the positioning of the narrow (and inoffensive) waterline of seaweed some distance from the water. --> Rock formations at either end of Silver Bay provide ample opportunity for rock pooling at low tide, while its generally uncrowded nature helps to create an atmosphere of seclusion. Although tranquil too, this can be broken by the take offs and landings at neighbouring RAF Valley aerodrome. Most visitors tend to be staying at the nearby holiday village, since other access is only by foot and there are no car parks in the immediate vicinity.Facilities are limited to a handful of picnic benches and bins beside a small basic hut. There is no lifeguard presence. Dogs are permitted throughout the year.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a beach day in Anglesey with your furry best friend? We at DogParkUK recommend Silver Bay! Your dog will love being allowed on the sandy shores all year round, perfect for zoomies! While parking is available, nearest facilities are a short drive away, so pack accordingly. The water is generally calm, but always supervise your dogs swimming, especially small breeds. Silver Bay really shines for boisterous, confident dogs who love a run and a splash. Just remember to bring bags and scoop the poop to keep this beach dog-friendly for everyone!
