Adjacent to the privately owned Burgh Island, Sedgewell Cove, often referred to as Bigbury-On-Sea, is separated from Bantham by the River Avon. During low tide, two expansive sandy beaches are revealed. At this time, it is possible to walk to Burgh Island and Bigbury-on-Sea North Beach, making it a popular destination for coastal walkers. --> Sedgewell Cove, which has become increasingly popular over recent years, is also well known for both its swimming and surfing facilities. The beach here benefits from a restaurant, three access points including a slipway and a large car park. Toilet facilities as well as a shop are also available.

We'd recommend a visit here, although it seems little is known about this well kept secret, making it ideal for anxious pups or those still learning recall as there shouldn't be many distractions.
