Seasalter Beach
π Whitstable, Kent
About This Place
The small town of Seasalter sits just across the mouth of the River Swale from the Isle of Sheppey. It is a fairly quiet, laid back town that spills right down to the long sand and shingle beach. --> Seasalter beach itself is made up of a steep shingle bank held in place with a seemingly endless series of wooden groynes. As the tide drops away a large area of flat sand is revealed. Seasalter is every bit the coastal town with plenty of facilities for watersports enthusiasts. There is a sailing club and water ski club, both of which benefit from a slipway towards the west of the beach. Seasalter is quite an upmarket spot with several celebrities amongst its past and present residents. As well as the acclaimed Sportsman pub there is a Michelin star restaurant. However, it is the local oysters which Seasalter is famed for. With all this to offer it may not be a huge surprise that beach huts here have been marketed for more than the cost of an average house.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a stress-free dog beach in Kent? Seasalter Beach is a fantastic, unrestricted choice, allowing dogs all year round! With mixed sand and shingle, it's perfect for a good sniff and a splash. Parking is generally available nearby. Though there are no facilities directly on the beach, youβll find plenty of amenities in the village. We recommend keeping a close eye on the tide as it can come in quickly. Seasalter is generally very dog-friendly and calm, ideal for puppies or those slightly anxious dogs looking to build confidence. Enjoy!
