About This Place

Seamill is a sandy beach with a few rocky patches. Behind the beach are some grassy areas which might make a good spot for a family picnic. Along the shoreline are quite a few rockpools exposed at low tide, where young visitors can enjoy exploring for marine life. --> The beach is an excellent place for walking, with the Ayrshire Coastal Path backing the beach.  This path extends for a few miles along the coast. There are excellent views out over the Firth of Clyde across to the mountainous Isle of Arran. Seamill beach is also a good place for bird watching. A car park with direct access to the beach can be found at the end of Hyndman Road in Seamill. Facilities such as shops and places to eat can be found in the nearby town of West Kilbride. The town also has a railway station with direct services to Glasgow. The area is also popular for golf, and West Kilbride Golf Links backs the northern end of the beach.
