About This Place

Seahouses is a bustling seaside town on the Northumberland Heritage Coast.Β  Boat trips from the harbour take visitors on wildlife-watching trips to the Farne Islands in the hope of seeing puffins, grey seals and even dolphins. --> The stretch of sandy beach to the south of the Sunderland Point is not as big as the North Beach, but it is all the same an excellent spot for rockpooling enthusiasts, being flanked on both sides by rocky outcrops.Β  The beach is backed by the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve and by a golf course.Β  This is a tranquil spot and is a good place to come to take in a bit of healthy sea air and shake away the cobwebs.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a cracking dog-friendly beach in Northumberland? Seahouses South Beach welcomes dogs year-round – perfect for off-lead zoomies no matter the season! The sand is lovely and soft, ideal for digging and gentle paws. Parking is available nearby, although it can get busy, so arrive early! Nearest facilities are in the village, a short walk away. Swim safety can vary with the tide, so keep a close eye, especially on puppies. This beach is a real winner for dogs who love a good run and paddle. Tip: bring fresh water; it can get salty! Best for active, confident dogs.
