Scousburgh Sands
π Lerwick, Shetland Islands
About This Place
The north facing sandy bay at Scousburgh is one of the finest beaches on Shetland. A beautiful stretch of white sand flanked by cliffs and rolling, green countryside. --> Across the dunes to the back of the beach is Spiggie Loch, an RSPB nature reserve. Great views of the beach can be had from the nearby hilltop of the Ward of Scousburgh which rises to 263m.
π‘ Our Take
DogParkUK Highly Recommends: Scousburgh Sands! While we await more details, we know this beach allows dogs year-round, a massive win! Presuming it's near Scousburgh in Scotland, prepare for potentially bracing North Sea waters. The sand type is unknown, but hopefully perfect for digging! Parking details are unclear, so research beforehand. Nearest facilities are also unconfirmed, pack water. Swim safety is crucial; assess tides carefully. Ideal for energetic breeds needing a good run; potentially less suitable for nervous pups. A pre-visit scout is recommended, especially if planning a long trip. Enjoy, and remember "leave no trace"!
