About This Place
Just along the coast from Luskentyre beach is another Hebridean gem, Scarista. This wide, open expanse of white sand faces into the turquoise shallows of the Sound of Taransay. You could be forgiven for thinking you were looking at a beach somewhere in the tropics. However a quick dip in the sea will remind you of just how far north you actually are. --> Scarista Beach is without doubt one of the finest on the Isle of Harris, although the rest share many of its charms. These include the wildflower-carpeted meadows (machair) which spill down to the beach and the array of wildlife. Donβt be surprised to see seals, eagles or deer when you visit Scarista.
π‘ Our Take
Scarista Beach, located in the stunning Isle of Harris, Scotland, is a dog-friendly haven open year-round. Its expansive stretches of soft, golden sand offer plenty of space for playful pups to run and explore. With no restrictions, it's perfect for energetic dogs needing a good romp. Always check the tides before swimming, as waters can be unpredictable. Convenient parking is available nearby, and although facilities are scarce, the beach's natural beauty makes it worth the visit. Best suited for adventurous big dogs and lively puppies, Scarista Beach is an ideal backdrop for memorable canine adventures. DogParkUK wholeheartedly recommends it!
