Sannox Bay is a quiet and particularly pretty spot on the east coast of the Isle of Arran. A gentle curve of sand and shingle just across the a little burn from the village of Sannox with itβs row of whitewashed cottages. --> The backdrop to the beach is an area of woodland before the landscape heads sharply upwards to the highest mountain on Arran - the 870 metre tall Goatfell.Sannox Bay is a great place to start a hike from, whether you head into the hills or follow the coast. Thereβs plenty of birdlife to be spotted around the beach and woodlands too.If you do visit Sannox make sure to check out the sheep-shaped (and painted) cleats on the harbour wall in front of the village.
