About This Place
Set on Caldey Island, just off the coast of Tenby, is the secluded beach at Sandtop Bay. A beautiful stretch of pristine golden sand facing westwards into the Atlantic Ocean. --> Backed by sloping cliffs which lead into sand dunes it is something of a scramble to get down to the beach. Combined with it being a bit of a walk from most of Caldey Islandβs other points of interest there is every chance you will have this lovely beach to yourself. Given its remoteness, steeply banking sands and often powerful currents swimming is not recommended at Sandtop Bay. In fact some locals say they would not even consider paddling here which may be sensible advice as there have been drownings here over the years.
π‘ Our Take
Discover Sandtop Bay, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Cornwall, where the golden sandy shores create the perfect playground for your canine companions. This serene beach welcomes dogs all year, offering ample space for big dogs to romp around and calm waters ideal for tentative swimmers. Enjoy the peace of mind with plenty of nearby parking, although we'd recommend arriving early during peak season to secure your spot. With its beautiful expanse and puppy-friendly terrain, it's a haven for adventurous pups and anxious dogs. Donβt forget to bring plenty of fresh water and snacks for your furry friends!
