About This Place
Rotherslade Bay beach is nestled just around the corner from Mumbles and right next to the larger, better known Langland beach. --> The diminutive cove that forms Rotherslade is backed by cliffs with rocky outcrops to either side forming something of a natural ampitheatre. Towards high tides this gives the beach a cosy feeling, whilst at lower tides the beach joins with the sands of Langland Bay next door. Many years ago the little beach was overlooked by a monolithic, concrete complex which was home to a dance hall, cafe and sun patios. This was demolished and replaced by a series of landscaped terraces and steps which are ideal for perching on and looking out over the bay. The beach is only accessible by a series of steps and parking is at something of a premium. In fact is usually only possible to park at Langland and walk around.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in Wales? We recommend Rotherslade Bay! This sandy haven welcomes dogs year-round, making it paw-fect for spontaneous seaside fun. While parking can be tight, nearby facilities offer refreshments. The gently sloping sands and relatively calm waters are great for pups learning to swim, but stay vigilant about currents. This beach is fantastic for well-behaved dogs, of all sizes to romp and play. It's best suited for confident dogs who enjoy the beach environment - but supervise your anxious dogs closely. Don't forget poop bags β let's keep Rotherslade beautiful for everyone!
