About This Place

Rocken End is set at the southern end of Chale Bay to the south of Blackgang Chine and just around the corner from the Isle of Wight’s most southerly point. This is one of the most remote spots on the island and faces straight into the elements with very little in the way of protection. As such it can feel pretty wild, but also it is often deserted. --> Access is a bit of a hike and a scramble, but nothing like as extreme as Whale Chine just up the coast. From the car park at the end of Old Blackgang road there is something approaching a path most of the way down. Nearby Blackgang Chine was once upon a time a spectacular ravine but over the years coastal erosion and landslides have taken their toll with little to indicate its former glory. The northern end of the beach here (Blackgang) is an unofficial nudist beach.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for an escape in [No County Data]? We at DogParkUK think your furry pal will adore Rocken End Beach. We love that dogs are welcome all year round with no restrictions, so they can always enjoy the beach. The sand is perfect for digging, although do keep an eye out for tides as getting cut off is reportedly a risk. Parking may be limited, and amenities are not avaliable so be prepared. Consider this beach for boisterous dogs but not timid or small dogs.
