About This Place

Traeth Crigyll (Town beach) is Rhosneigr’s main beach. Located just to the west of the town it is a fine expanse of golden sand. --> At Rhosneigr beach you have the best of both worlds; there is easy access from the village, with several roads leading right down onto the beach. As you head west away from the village the backdrop turns into one of low dunes and fields beyond. Rhosneigr is a great family beach with plenty of exploring to be done. There is a stream where the Afon Crigyll flows into the sea - just about the right size for building a dam. There are also some rocky areas near the town which reveal rockpools at low tide. Traeth Crigyll is a popular spot among watersports enthusiasts with kite-surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and surfing all possible on the right conditions. The slipway also allows easy beach access making it a good spot for launching small boats. Whilst swimming here is generally safe there isn’t a lifeguard service so care should be taken when bathing.

💡 Our Take

Rhosneigr (Traeth Crigyll) Beach in Anglesey, Wales, is a fantastic dog-friendly haven! This sandy stretch welcomes dogs year-round, guaranteeing tail-wagging fun regardless of the season. The soft sand is perfect for digging and running. Ample parking is nearby, with the village's shops and cafes only a short stroll away for refreshments. The sea is generally safe for swimming, but always supervise your furry friend. Rhosneigr’s open space makes it ideal for energetic dogs needing a good run! Be mindful of strong winds, especially with smaller breeds. A truly enjoyable experience for dogs and their people, alike!
