About This Place
Pwlldu, meaning βblack poolβ in Welsh, is a secluded bay with a sandy area exposed at low tide, and a rocky area further up the beach. It is popular for bathing and sea canoeing, but is not the easiest beach to reach, with no roads giving direct access. Instead, visitors can walk here along country tracks, such as Pwlldu Lane which connects the beach with the village of Bishopston. --> Due to its remoteness, there are rarely crowds at the beach, but there are also no facilities. The closest shops and places to eat can be found in Bishopston.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach escape? We at DogParkUK recommend exploring Pwlldu Bay, nestled in the beautiful Gower Peninsula, Wales! Your furry friends are welcome year-round on its sandy shores, perfect for off-leash zoomies. Parking can be tricky, so arrive early. While the bay feels secluded, remember there are limited facilities nearby. Swim safety can vary, so keep a close eye on your dog, especially during high tide. This beach is brilliant for energetic dogs who love a good run and a splash! Tip: The walk down to the beach can be steep for some.
