About This Place

Presipe Bay is one of the beaches on the Pembrokeshire coast that can genuinely be described as a hidden gem. At low tide the beach here consists of a wide stretch of golden sand backed by stunning sandstone cliffs that will set any geologist’s heart racing. These tall red cliffs are formed of vertical strata are rich in fossils and rise steeply from the beach. --> It is worth noting that the beach becomes very small as the tide comes in so it is essential to check the tides when planning a visit. This section of the Pembrokeshire National Park coast is home to the Royal Artillery Range at Manorbier. In fact fifty years ago, when the coast path was first established here it had to take a detour inland to avoid the range. These days the military is less active here and the coast path does follow the coast. It is from this that you can access the beach via around 160 steep steps down.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Nestled along the Pembrokeshire coast, Presipe Bay is a hidden gem perfect for dog lovers. With its vast expanse of golden sand, this beach allows dogs year-round, making it a haven for energetic pups needing a good run. The gentle waters are typically safe for a splash, though always supervise swimming pooches closely. Parking is nearby, yet facilities are minimal, so bring essentials for both you and your furry friend. Ideal for big dogs who love exploring wide spaces or anxious pups seeking quieter spots, Presipe Bay is a delightful retreat. Just remember to check tides to avoid being caught out!
