Porthselau Beach
📍 St Davids, Glamorgan
About This Place
Porthselau is a small, largely sandy beach which is dotted with rock formations. It is located on the south side of greater Whitesands Bay. It faces north-west which means that you get excellent vistas across to St. David’s Head. On spring low tides it is possible to walk to neighbouring Whitesands beach. --> You can access the beach from a pretty stretch of the coast path and many people come here when the neighbouring beach at Whitesands is crowded. Another way to get to the beach is to walk along a footpath from the nearby peninsula near Rhosson Farm. Porthselau beach is also close to Treleddyn which is a house that dates from the 17th century. It is said that the home is connected to the beach in a tunnel that would have been used to smuggle illicit alcohol.
💡 Our Take
Looking for a year-round dog-friendly sandy haven? We at DogParkUK recommend checking out Porthselau Beach! While information's limited, the great news is there are reportedly no dog restrictions. This makes it ideal for off-season zoomies and sandy pawprints. Keep an eye on tide times; at low tide, there's likely ample space for even the biggest breeds to stretch their legs and roam to their heart's content. Remember, information is limited, so prioritize your dog’s safety and be cautious when swimming. Best for dogs who enjoy a bit of freedom – owners will need to be extra vigilant and responsible!
