Porth Trwyn Beach
๐ Holyhead, Gwynedd
About This Place
The quiet beach of Porth Trwyn near Llanfaethlu is on Angleseyโs west coast a few miles north of Holyhead. There is very little in the way of development here with just a few cottages overlooking the dunes to the back of the beach. --> At high tide the only remaining beach at Porth Trwyn is band of pebbles. However, as the tide drops away a good-sized expanse of sand is exposed. There are also some rocky areas on the beach which provide plenty of opportunities for rockpooling. There arenโt much in the way of facilities at Porth Trwyn. For toilets and a shop you will need to go to the village of Llanfaethlu just under a mile away.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach adventure? We at DogParkUK recommend Porth Trwyn Beach in Anglesey, Wales! This gem welcomes dogs year-round with unrestricted joy. While the sand type is currently under exploration, remember open beaches can pose wave hazards. Parking details need checking, so plan ahead. Nearest facilities also need to be researched, so bring snacks! This beach is great for energetic big dogs who love to run free. However, exercise caution with puppies due to potential wave conditions. Quick tip: always check the tide times beforehand for maximum beach fun!
