Port Isaac Beach
📍 Wadebridge, Cornwall
About This Place
Beach / car park / harbour - take your pick Port Isaac has them all rolled into one idyllic little cove. --> The sand and shingle beach here is flanked on either side by high headlands and backed by one of Cornwall’s prettiest little fishing villages. The village practically spills onto the beach and there are plenty of facilities to cater for everyone’s needs close at hands. That includes pubs, cafes and a handful of bucket and spade shops. Being a harbour the water is pretty sheltered here making it ideal for a paddle. There is still a small working fishing fleet here so there’s always something going on with fish being landed and sold at the little fish market. Port Isaac is perhaps best known as the location for the TV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. It is easy to see why the village was chosen as a filming location with its jumble of whitewashed cottages and maze of narrow streets.
💡 Our Take
We at DogParkUK think your furry friend will adore Port Isaac Beach in Cornwall! It's a fantastic sandy beach welcoming dogs year-round, great for off-lead exploration. Parking can be tricky in peak season, so arrive early. Whilst the water is generally calm, always supervise your dog, especially if currents are strong. Nearest facilities are in the quaint village, a short walk away. Its open space makes it wonderful for energetic dogs to run free, though potentially overwhelming for very anxious pups. Remember to bring poop bags and water! Enjoy making paw-some memories!
