About This Place
Pittenweem is a picturesque fishing village, with the most active fishing harbour on the whole of the East Neuk Coast. It offers excellent views to the south over the Firth of Forth. The harbour is in the centre of the village along East Shore. A short walk west along Mid Shore and West Shore, will bring the visitor to a small sand and rock beach, about 100 meters west of the harbour. --> There is a fairly large car park above the beach, along W Braes, located on a small headland offering excellent views of the fishing village and coastline. There are public toilets here as well as a skate park and a childrenβs play area. A path takes visitors down from the headland to the shoreline. There are also parking spaces along East Shore and Mid Shore, adjacent to the harbour. There are a few shops and restaurants alongside the harbour, but most facilities in the village can be found along the High Street, set about 50 meters back from the shoreline. The area is popular for golf, with the Anstruther Golf Club situated along the coast just to the north of the village. It is also popular with walkers, and the Fife Coastal Path passes the beach.
π‘ Our Take
DogParkUK recommends Pittenweem Beach in Fife, Scotland! It's a fantastic year-round, dog-friendly beach with lovely sandy stretches, perfect for letting your furry friend run free without seasonal restrictions. Parking is available nearby, though facilities are limited directly on the beach so plan ahead. The calm waters make it ideal for dogs confident in swimming. Be mindful of the tide, though, as it can come in quickly! Pittenweem is best suited for energetic dogs who love a good run. Our tip? Bring a long leash for recall practice in open areas. Enjoy this lovely Scottish beach!
