About This Place

Pettycur Bay is a sandy beach backed by sand dunes just to the west of Kinghorn. It is known for its quiet laid back atmosphere and vast expanse of sand here making it ideal for anyone who wants to relax or go for a long walk. --> One of the big draws here is the views which stretch across to the Firth of Forth in the direction of Edinburgh and The Lothians. When the weather is fine you can even see Edinburgh Castle and the famous Arthur’s Seat. If the tide is low, it is possible to walk directly from the beach to neighbouring Burntisland Beach. The beach is conveniently located 10 minutes walk away from the main high street and train station.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Looking for a truly dog-friendly beach? DogParkUK recommends Pettycur Beach in Kinghorn, Fife! It's paw-fect because dogs are welcome all year with no restrictions! Your furry friend will love running on the lovely sand. Parking is available, but please check local signage. Do be aware that there are no immediately obvious facilities, so bring your own water for both you and your pooch. Swim safety wasn't specified, so err on the side of caution near the water! We'd suggest it's ideal for well-socialised dogs comfortable with open spaces. Enjoy the freedom!
