Norton Road Beach (Swansea Bay)
๐ Swansea, Glamorgan
About This Place
This is one of the various beaches which can be found around the sand and mud flats of Swansea Bay.ย The beach at Norton Road is a mix of sand, shingle and mud, backed by sea defences. --> There are some car parking spaces along the A4067 (Mumbles Road) to the south of the beach, and there are a choice of places to eat and drink within a few minutesโ walk. The nearby ruins of Oystermouth Castle, with its 30-foot high glass-bottomed bridge, are worth a visit if youโre in the area. The castle is open from the beginning of April until the end of September.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in Wales? DogParkUK recommends Norton Road Beach in Swansea Bay! It's a fantastic sandy stretch where dogs are welcome all year round, perfect for boundless canine energy. Parking is available nearby, so you donโt have far to lug all your beach gear. Though facilities are limited, the joy of a wide-open space for fetching, digging, and splashing makes up for it. We advise checking tide times, especially if your dog isnโt a strong swimmer. It's ideal for high-energy pups and big dogs needing a good run, although the open space means it may not be best for anxious dogs.
