About This Place

Tenby North Beach is easy to spot if you are in Tenby thanks to the iconic Goscar Rock the rears out of the sand in the centre of the strip. The beach is one of the best-loved in the area and is tucked away between Harbour Beach and the elegant North Cliffs. As a result, the sands face east which means that it catches the sun all day and feels warm even when the winds are high.  --> This area as a whole sheltered by the cliffs that surround it as well as part of the famous wall that encircles the town of Tenby and dates from the medieval period. Tenby North is regarded by many as being one of the prettiest in Pembrokeshire and is certainly one of the most photographed spots on the coast. As you look out to sea from Tenby North Beach you will be able to enjoy views across stunning Carmarthen Bay. With this in mind, you can expect a typical picture postcard seaside setting at Tenby North Beach. At the beach you will find a long length of clean sand and as it backs onto the town there are a range of restaurants, shops, pubs, and cafes within easy walking distance. This part of Tenby is a magnet for water sports like boating which is easily accessed via a slipway. In addition, you can hire deckchairs if you want to relax on the beach for the afternoon and there is a lifeguard service that runs from late June to September which means that families can swim here with peace of mind. To get to the beach you can either use the scenic steps that lead down from the towering North Cliffs or you can walk through the delightful harbour area. Tenby North Beach has won a range of awards over the years such as the Blue Flag Beach award and the Seaside Award. This means that it is very popular, particularly when the weather is fine and you can expect some crowds especially during school holiday periods. If you happen to be here at Christmas time then this is also the location for the famous Boxing Day Swim event.
