Nicholaston Burrows Beach
📍 Swansea, Glamorgan
About This Place
Part of Oxwich Bay, Nicholaston Burrows is generally the quietest part of the beach. This is largely on account of it being further away from any parking than Oxwich Bay main beach to the west and Tor Bay to the east. --> This stretch of beach takes its name from the steep sand dunes and grassland that back the beach. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) it is managed by the National Trust. As well as being home to some interesting coastal flora the area is rich in history with the remains of a Neolithic burial chamber, a Norman fort and a medieval church nearby. There is a café, farm shop and camp sites at Nicholaston Farm around 10 minutes walk away.
💡 Our Take
Looking for a brilliant beach for your best friend? DogParkUK recommends Nicholaston Burrows Beach! Found in lovely Gower, Wales, it's a sandy paradise where dogs are welcome all year round - perfect for off-leash zoomies! The expansive sands are ideal for all breeds, from tiny pups to energetic big dogs. Parking is available, but remember to bring water as facilities are limited nearby. The sea can sometimes have strong currents, so do exercise caution when swimming. This beach is great for confident dogs who love open spaces, but may be overwhelming for anxious pups. Enjoy!
