About This Place
Mother Iveyโs Bay is somewhat tucked away on the North Cornish coast between Newquay and Padstow. It is a very pleasant sandy beach at the bottom of steep cliffs. If it were not for the large caravan site above the beach it would be something of a hidden gem. --> Besides access through the caravan site itself you are looking at a twenty minute walk along the coast path from Harlyn. As a result the beach rarely gets busy even when the caravan site is full. The rather strange name, Mother Iveyโs Bay, comes from the legend of a local white witch who cursed a family. Prior to this it was always known as Polventon beach.
๐ก Our Take
Nestled in the picturesque county of Cornwall, Mother Iveys Bay is a hidden gem perfect for you and your four-legged friend. Sandy shores and gentle waves ensure a wonderful romp for dogs all year round, with no seasonal restrictions. The soft sands are ideal for sensitive paws, making it especially good for puppies and older dogs needing a gentle terrain. Free parking is available nearby, but do bring your own water and supplies as facilities are limited. Swim safely as while the beach is paradise for dogs, the currents can occasionally be strong. Embrace the coastal charm for an unforgettable outing!
