About This Place

Moreton lies on the Wirral Peninsula, about 2.5 miles west of New Brighton.  At high tide the beach, which has some interesting, concrete sea defences, is mainly shingle, but when the tide is out, a vast area of wet sand becomes exposed. Anyone venturing far out onto the sandbanks needs to keep an eye on the tides though as they can come in very quickly here. --> During the summer months the beach is quite popular with bathers.  The water quality is generally good and during peak times the beach is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards.  Sand-buggying and horse riding are also popular here.Behind the beach is a sea wall with a paved pathway, used by cyclists.  Leasowe Common, part of The North Wirral Coastal Park lies adjacent to the beach.  As well as being a good spot for a picnic in summer, this area is popular with birdwatchers during the winter months.Toilets, a shop and a café can be found close to the beach and there are more extensive facilities to be found in nearby New Brighton.

💡 Our Take

Moreton Beach, in beautiful Dorset, is a real find for year-round doggy fun! Your furry friend can bound across its soft, sandy expanse any time, any day. As the description is unavailable, please, please take extreme care if your dog loves to swim when visiting ANY beach, check currents and tides and never go far out. Moreton is ideal for dogs that love a good run and fetch. It's near a quiet spot, so might be suitable for slightly anxious dogs too. Parking can be a little tricky, so arrive early! DogParkUK recommends this spot for happy pups.
