Monknash Beach
π Llantwit Major, Glamorgan
About This Place
Monkash, or Cwm Nash, is situated on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast about halfway between Swansea and Cardiff.Β --> The beach is characterized by its dramatic limestone cliffs, a testament to millions of years of geological history. These sheer cliffs, speckled with patches of greenery, provide an impressive backdrop to the rock-paved shoreline that transforms into flat sands as the tide recedes. At low tide, visitors can explore the rock pools and even find fossilized remains embedded in the rocks. Access to Monknash Beach requires something of a scenic walk through the fields and woodland of a nature reserve. The secluded nature of the beach means there is nothing in the way of facilities here
π‘ Our Take
Monknash Beach in Glamorgan is a fantastic year-round choice for dog owners! What a haven with no restrictions, Fido can roam free on the mostly sandy shores! Parking's available nearby, though immediate facilities are limited, so pack wisely. Swim safety can vary, so watch your pup carefully, especially with tide changes. We love the open space - brilliant for dogs who love to run, and more confident pups who aren't easily phased by the waves. Tip: bring fresh water; it's exposed and they'll get thirsty! Monknash is best suited to energetic dogs needing a good romp!
