About This Place
Banna Minn, or just Minn beach, is a wonderful example of a tombolo, forming a narrow strip of land connecting West Burra to Kettla Ness. There is a beach of some description to either side of the bar but it is the sandy crescent on the north-western side that is worthy of note. --> Set in a deep horseshoe-shaped bay Minn beach is a sweeping crescent of white sand. The water is a beautiful clear blue and remains shallow a fair way out. Despite the west coast of the island facing out into the open ocean not much in the way of swell makes it through the narrow gap in the headlands. The beach at Banna Minn is probably most commonly frequented by walkers heading over to Kettla Ness. No longer inhabited this wild headland offers some fantastic views over the beach and back to Burra. Itβs also a haven for wildlife and you may well spot seals along with Arctic terns and Arctic Skuas.
π‘ Our Take
Minn Beach, nestled along the serene coastlines of Devon, is an ideal haven for dogs, offering unrestricted, year-round access for your furry friends. The soft golden sands provide perfect romping grounds for puppies and anxious dogs alike, ensuring a comfortable paw-friendly environment. While there aren't on-site facilities, nearby parking makes visits convenient, and the gentle waters are safe for swimming under your careful watch. A practical tip: remember to bring fresh water and snacks, as amenities are limited. Minn Beachβs tranquil setting and dog-friendly nature make it a delightful escape for both pets and their owners.
