Mersea Stone Beach
π Brightlingsea, Essex
About This Place
Sand and shell beach on the easternmost tip of Mersea Island. --> On the eastern shore of the beach are the remains of a World War II pillbox. Mersea Island has been stratrgically important for centuries and there are also the very faint remains of a Tudor fort here too. The beach is the landing point for the foot ferry to St Osyth and Brightlighsea so is easily reached from either of these.
π‘ Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly escape in Essex? We at DogParkUK recommend Mersea Stone Beach! With no seasonal restrictions, your furry pals can enjoy the area year-round. As the name suggests, be prepared for pebbles rather than sand, perfect for dogs who dislike burying themselves! There's no charge for entry. Parking is available. Do take water/food as there are no other listed facilities. It's shallow waters are great for less confident swimmers. For smaller dogs itβs great. However, be mindful of other visitors especially during peak times, dogs and humans.
