About This Place

Meon Shore is a lengthy stretch of shingle beach running along the Solent. It sits on the other side of Hill Head harbour which straddles the river Meon. Behind the harbour is the Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve, an area of coastal wetland that is home to a great diversity of species. --> The eastern end of the beach has a car park and short promenade. It is also home to a kitesurfing school. Just along are a row of archetypal weatherboard beach chalets. Beyond the chalets the beach becomes increasingly quiet as the road deviates from the coast. This stretch of shingle and pebble is a good spot for fossil hunting with various small finds to be made. The western end of the beach has also long been known as a naturist spot, although it should be noted much of the beach is overlooked by the coast path here.

πŸ’‘ Our Take

Located near Fareham in Hampshire, Meon Shore Beach is a marvelous year-round haven for dogs. With its sandy stretches and pebbly patches, it's perfect for frolicking or a serene stroll. The beach's wide, open space is great for big dogs to stretch their legs and pups to explore safely. Parking is conveniently nearby, though the facilities are limited, so plan accordingly. While it's generally safe for swimming, strong currents mean supervision is crucial. An ideal escape for anxious dogs needing tranquility, Meon Shore Beach promises a refreshing day out for both you and your furry companion.
