Martins Haven Beach
๐ Milford Haven, Glamorgan
About This Place
Martins Haven is set in a sheltered, rocky cove and backed a steep bank of shingle and pebbles behind. Beyond this is the road leads down to the beach, forming a slipway. --> The beach is close to the Skomer Marine Nature Reserve and this is where you catch the boat for the two mile trip to visit the Island. This is one for the nature lovers with an abundance of bird and sea life to be seen. The cliffs here are home to seabirds such as razorbills, kittiwakes, guillemots and even puffins, whilst in the water you may spot dolphins, seals and basking sharks during the summer.Diving is also a popular pastime here. as the nature reserve extends well beyond the coast.ย Nearby is Lockley Lodge which is a visitor centre owned by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. It is also close to pretty Marloes Village and you will find a good range of B&Bs and campsites in the surrounding area.ย For walkers there are no shortage of routes in the area with three different rails around Martins Haven to Marloes and St. Brides National Park.
๐ก Our Take
Looking for a dog-friendly beach in Pembrokeshire to let your furry friend run free? Although we await specific details, Martins Haven Beach welcomes dogs year-round! Imagine fetching sticks on its sands (exact type TBD). While parking and amenities await confirmation, nearby Dale offers essentials. Although it's unknown HOW near. Swim safety isn't fully confirmed, so always assess conditions before letting your dog paddle. This could be an amazing spot for dogs of all sizes, especially energetic pups needing open space! Always bring water and poo bags... especially to secluded beaches where amenities may be limited.
