About This Place
Markse Sands is a predominantly sandy beach, with some shingle higher up the beach away from the shoreline, opposite the village of Marske-by-the-Sea. Water sports such as surfing, boating, and windsurfing are all popular along this stretch of coastline, as is fishing, swimming and walking. --> The wide beach offers visitors an excellent opportunity to stretch their legs, particularly when the tide is out and a vast, flat, sandy area is exposed. Parking is available in the town, as well as number of shops, restaurants, pubs, and public toilets. The beach can be reached down a slipway found at the end of High Street. The village also contains a museum in an old cottage known as Winkies Castle, run by volunteers and containing rotating exhibitions. A railway station in the village offers services to Darlington.
π‘ Our Take
Head to Marske Sands in Redcar and Cleveland for a brilliant, unrestricted doggy day! Your furry friend can roam freely on the expansive sandy beach year-round, which is fantastic for energetic pups. Parking is available nearby but can get busy. Amenities are a walk away in Marske-by-the-Sea. The generally calm waters are great, but always supervise your dogβs swimming, especially with strong tides. We reckon this is perfect for dogs of all sizes, especially those who love a good run. Tip: Bring a long line for initial explorations, as distractions might be high!
