About This Place

Small patch of sand on the banks of the River Stour. Best at high tide, when it is quite a popular swimming spot. As the tide goes out it does reveal the mudflats of the estuary. --> Only a minute or two’s walk from Manningtree’s charming High Street where you’ll find plenty of places to eat and a few shops. There’s usually some free roadside parking on all but the busiest of summer days.

💡 Our Take

Need a dog-friendly beach escape in Essex? While Manningtree Beach lacks detailed descriptions, it’s rumored to welcome dogs year-round, which is fantastic news! We hear it's a sand and shingle mix, ideal for digging paws. Parking details are scarce, so research ahead! Remember, without confirmed safety information, exercise caution if your dog's swimming. Nearest facilities are likely in Manningtree itself. This could be a good, quiet choice for older, calmer dogs or those who prefer gentle exploration while you keep a watchful eye. Tip: Have fresh water ready – those tiny pebbles get hot!
