Man Haven Beach
📍 South Shields, Northumberland
About This Place
Man Haven Beach (also known locally as Boaties Bay) is a small, hidden cove tucked beneath the cliffs between Marsden and Sandhaven beaches. It’s one of the most secluded spots along this stretch of coast, sheltered by steep cliffs and largely cut off from South Shield’s more developed beach areas. --> The beach is a mix of sand, rocks and shingle, and is only accessible by steep steps which makes it more suited to confident walkers. At low tide, there’s space to explore the rocks and small pools, and it’s also frequented by anglers. There are no facilities here; no lifeguards, toilets or cafés, and the steep access means it’s not ideal for families with young children or anyone needing easy entry.
💡 Our Take
Man Haven Beach, located in the scenic Cornwall region, is a hidden gem for dog lovers seeking a perfect outing. Dogs are welcome all year round on its soft, golden sands, making it an ideal playground for puppies and large, energetic breeds alike. The expansive beach offers plenty of space for running and playing, ensuring even the most anxious dogs feel at ease. Convenient nearby parking adds to the ease of your visit. However, be cautious of the occasional strong tides; always keep an eye on your furry friend when swimming. Man Haven Beach truly caters to canine joy and comfort.
